Sheri Lea Whelchel can I ask you please, everyone blames weight gain on their “ thyroid”. I am hypo thyroid and mostly have weight under control ( finally)
My understanding is while your thyroid can have s as n affect on weight it is not the only reason for weight gain.
Is this true? SO many women are hypothyroid it seems as am I.
Rhonda T. you are exactly right. People gain weight because they eat excessively, they eat bad food, they eat food that causes inflammation, there are a number of reasons. I have never had a thyroid problem but I have gained as much as 30 lb of excess weight. I was extremely stressed for a number of years, I was tired, not getting enough sleep, my vitamin d level was very low, I had chronic inflammation, and I ate well but I also ate crappy, and I overate.
Most of the time it’s because people have a false belief about nutrition.
Hope that helps and good for you! ![]()

Sheri Lea Whelchel thank you so much for taking the time to answer this. It confirms what I thought and what my Dr. said. There are many factors involved.
Thank you.
Rhonda T. of course. I found that most of the time people would rather blame an outside factor than to take responsibility for their own sloppy, unhealthy behavior.
Sheri Lea Whelchel yes, accountability. Absolutely.
